‘N-Angle’: Clinical Indicator for Predictable Insertion of Ramal Bone Screws

چکیده

Introduction: The primary concern in the placement of ramal bone screws is blind nature procedure, as there a thick, mobile layer soft tissue over bone; also, ramus not uniplanar structure but swerving like propeller blade. purpose this study was to evaluate possibility establishing clinical guidelines based on visible dental and soft-tissue landmarks for safe, reliable, accurate insertion screws. Aims Objectives: Our objective angle formed between appropriate direction ramal-implant line tangential buccal surfaces first second permanent molars. secondary average distance neurovascular bundle from tip screw. Materials Methods: We obtained 80 cone beam computed tomography (CBCT) samples, marked reference lines points selected axial coronal sections, evaluated following parameters using software’s linear- angular-measurement device: screw molars; proximity bundle. Results: constructed occlusal line, our study, 19.04 (SD ± 6.89) degrees. 7.1773 1.73988) mm. Conclusion: can conclude that be placed with comfortable margin safety.

Insertion profiles of 4 headless compression screws.

PURPOSE In practice, the surgeon must rely on screw position (insertion depth) and tactile feedback from the screwdriver (insertion torque) to gauge compression. In this study, we identified the relationship between interfragmentary compression and these 2 factors. METHODS The Acutrak Standard, Acutrak Mini, Synthes 3.0, and Herbert-Whipple implants were tested using a polyurethane foam scaph...

Cortical bone trajectory for lumbar pedicle screws.

BACKGROUND CONTEXT Achieving solid implant fixation to osteoporotic bone presents a clinical challenge. New techniques and devices are being designed to increase screw-bone purchase of pedicle screws in the lumbar spine via a novel cortical bone trajectory that may improve holding screw strength and minimize loosening. Preliminary clinical evidence suggests that this new trajectory provides scr...

Should we use cortical bone screws for cortical bone trajectory?

OBJECT In 2009, Santoni et al. reported cortical bone trajectory (CBT) as a method of inserting pedicle screws to obtain more solid fixation, and proposed the use of cortical trajectory screws with a more closely placed thread (cortical screws) for CBT. Since the entry trajectory in CBT differs from that in the traditional trajectory, it is unclear whether the increased strength derives from th...

"PASS" principles for predictable bone regeneration.

Guided bone regeneration is a well-established technique used for augmentation of deficient alveolar ridges. Predictable regeneration requires both a high level of technical skill and a thorough understanding of underlying principles of wound healing. This article describes the 4 major biologic principles (i.e., PASS) necessary for predictable bone regeneration: primary wound closure to ensure ...

Comparison of the bone response to xenogenic bone screws and metallic screws in canine femur

The study compared the bone response to xenogenic screws and metallic screws of a similar design in a canine femur. The xenogenic bone screws and metallic bone screws were inserted into the femur diaphyses of dogs. Radiological and histological responses to the xenogenic bone screws were determined in canine bone and micro-computed tomography evaluation of bone mass and bone density parameter w...
